Student Expectations

Student Expectations

1. All students are required to sign in and out of all tutoring, lab, study hall or just studying sessions.

2. Students are expected to come prepared for their tutoring sessions with all needed materials.

3. All students are required to alert CASA if they are not going to be able to show for a tutoring session.

4. If a student wishes to cancel his or her tutoring appointment, the student is required to contact CASA.

5. If a student misses 2 appointments in a row without alerting their tutor or the director, his/her appointment will be canceled.

Tutor Expectations

1. Tutors are not a second instructor, but a help to the student to answer questions regarding a course.

2. Tutors are to serve as a guide for students to understand the course, not to do the work for the student.

3. Tutors are paid employees through the Center for Academic Student Achievement.

4. Requirements to be a tutor are as follows:

      a. Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing

      b. 3.0 cumulative GPA

      c. A grade of an "A" is preferred in the course the tutor will be tutoring.  A grade of "B" is required.
