Student Expectations

Student Expectations

  1.  All students are required to sign in and out of TutorTrac at the front desk. (tutoring, drop-in tutoring, or just studying)
  2. Students are expected to come prepared for their tutoring sessions with all needed materials.
  3. All students are required to alert CASA ( and or their tutor (email will be on the appointment information email) if they are not going to show for a tutoring session.
  4. If a student is wanting to cancel their tutoring appointment session that will need to contact CASA ( or come down and speak with Amber Watson.
  5. If a student misses more than 2 appointments without letting their tutor or CASA know, their session will be canceled.
  6. If a student cancels a certain amount of times their session will be canceled.     

***If session is cancelled student will be allowed to utilize Drop-In Tutoring.***

Tutor Expectations

1. Tutors are not a second instructor, but a help to the student to answer questions regarding a course.

2. Tutors are to serve as a guide for students to understand the course, not to do the work for the student.

3. Tutors are paid employees through the Center for Academic Student Achievement.

4. Requirements to be a tutor are as follows:

      a. Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing

      b. 3.0 cumulative GPA

      c. A grade of an "A" is preferred in the course the tutor will be tutoring.  A grade of "B" is required.
