Overdue Items
All items are required to be returned by the assigned due date. Courtesy reminder emails will be sent by the Bethel Campus Library.
If there is no response and the items are not returned within six months, then the items will be considered lost. The patron will lose all borrowing privileges until the items are returned or funds for an exact replacement of the item are provided to the library.

If a book (other borrowed item) is damaged, it is the patron's responsibility to coordinate with the library for the replacement costs.

The purpose of circulation services is to allow students, faculty, alumni, and community users the ability to check out items in the Burroughs Learning Center’s collection, in order to facilitate the university-related research of Bethel University students, faculty, and staff.
Students, faculty, alumni, and community users may checkout library items if they meet the following requirements:
1. They have a current, valid Bethel University ID or community patron library card.
2. They have no outstanding library fines or overdue items.
In addition, the following library circulation rules will also be enforced:

3. Equipment Borrowing (laptop, camera, microphone, etc.)
4. Renewing
5. Holds
A patron may place a hold on an item if it is currently checked out. The Library will notify the patron once the item is available. The library staff is not able to guarantee a timeframe for when the item will be available.
The Library reserves the right to recall any titles identified as needing additional access, course reserves, or other related items. These approvals are made by the Library Dean.

If a patron develops a pattern of stealing, losing, or damaging library materials. The library reserves the right to suspend or cancel its ability to check out library items. The library also reserves the right to refuse circulation services to patrons not following the library's conduct guidelines.
The Bethel University Library's print collection is available to distance and online students. The print catalog can be searched here.
Borrowers must be current Bethel University students. Standard borrowing times will apply as outlined for print resources.
