QEP Implementation Schedule

Implementation of  the QEP  is complicated by the variety of course duration and mode of delivery of classes in the three colleges displayed in the table found Comparison of Undergraduate Courses in Bethel's Three Colleges For this reason in the timeline of the expressions ``Near completion of WE class'' and ``Beginning of term'' must be understood in light of the of the period during the class is being taught.

Year 1 2018-2019

Fall 2019

QEP Director and Committee, WE Review Committee January-February Revise Bethel's writing rubrics if the reliability and validity study results warrant a revision
Expert in Writing Pedagogy and Assessment February and on demand Continue faculty workshops on Writing Enrichment classes and rubric use
Writing Enrichment Review Committee On demand Evaluate faculty proposals for first batch of Writing Enrichment classes (Table refintrowecourses, page pagerefintrowecourses).
QEP Director and Committee, selected faculty, Office of Institutional Effectiveness Near completion of WE class Administer ETS HEIghten to students and surveys to students and faculty to obtain baseline scores for Bethel seniors' writing proficiency
QEP Director and QEP Committee late spring of academic year Director prepares report of summary of implementation tasks carried out during the academic year. Report is reviewed by the QEP Committee in September of following academic year.

Years 2-4 2019-2022: Each Term

Expert in Writing Pedagogy and Assessment On demand Continue to offer faculty workshops on Writing Enrichment classes and rubrics.
Writing Enrichment Review Committee On demand Continue to evaluate faculty proposals for Writing Enrichment classes.
QEP Director and Committee, selected faculty, Office of Institutional Effectiveness Near completion of WE class Administer ETS HEighten surveys to seniors and faculty to obtain data regarding students' writing proficiency.
WE faculty At completion of WE class Submit assessment reports on their students' writing performance as determined by the rubric scores for work submitted for Writing Enrichment courses the preceding term.
WE faculty Beginning of Term Offer all Writing Enrichment classes approved by the WE Committee that are on the Bethel class rotation schedules.

WE faculty Upon completion of WE classes Submit assessment reports on their students' writing performance as determined by the rubric scores for work submitted for Writing Enrichment courses during the term just ended.
WE faculty Beginning of Term Offer all Writing Enrichment classes approved by the WE Committee that are on the Bethel class rotation schedules.

QEP Director and QEP Committee Fall Semester 2023 Director uses the yearly QEP implementation reports as a basis for preparing the QEP five-year impact report. Report is reviewed by the QEP Committee in November of 2023.
